I'm Ian Morelan. I worked as a research analyst with the Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal, building data products on wildfire risk and community vulnerability. After that, I kept supporting fire agencies on deployment analyses, coverage gap mapping, and Standards of Cover support. I never stopped thinking about CRR.
I hold a PhD from Oregon State University and have been doing spatial and statistical analysis since graduate school. I've been working with fire and EMS data since 2021. Arborlook Insights is my analytics practice; Risk & Response is the platform I've built out of it.
Beyond the platform, I work directly with fire agencies, county fire authorities, and state fire marshal offices on custom analyses, grant narratives, and Standards of Cover support.
